The South Dakota Comprehensive Cancer Control Program strives to reduce cancer incidence and mortality through prevention, early detection, treatment, palliation, and addressing survivorship issues.

It is dedicated to bringing together individuals, organizations, health care providers, and agencies to reduce the burden of cancer in South Dakota.

The South Dakota Cancer Registry coordinates a statewide cancer surveillance system.

Registry data helps monitor cancer trends, target cancer control and prevention programs, and provide a research base for studies into cancer causes. The ultimate goal is reduce death and illness due to cancer.

GetScreenedSD coordinates activities to promote early detection of colorectal cancer.

All Women Count logo

 

All Women Count! provides reimbursement for screening and diagnostic tests to promote early detection of breast and cervical cancer.

It serves women 30-64 years of age for Pap smears and 40-64 for mammograms, without insurance to pay for screening exams, and who have insurance but cannot pay the deductible or co-payment.
